Zurich Mini Retreat
Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August 2025
at
Tanzhaus Zurich
-
Join us for our first ever Mini Retreat in the picturesque Swiss city of Zurich.
I am joined by my fellow Royal Ballet School classmate and former Soloist of Zurich Ballet, Daniel Mulligan and together we will be teaching not just ballet class but also both classical and contemporary repertoire over 2 days at the stunning studios at Tanzhaus Zurich.
I will be coaching you on Pas de Trois Variation 1 from Swan Lake, while Daniel will be coaching a neoclassical dance piece from the repertoire of Zurich Ballet. In addition to learning a traditional piece of classical repertoire, this is a wonderful opportunity to explore contemporary dance which holds an important place within the repertoire of many top ballet companies around the world. It draws on the forms and ideals of classical ballet and you will discover how your knowledge of ballet can facilitate different movement styles and inspire choreography.
This Mini Retreat is tailored for adult ballet dancers at an Intermediate level or those at a strong Beginner/ Improver level who wish to challenge themselves.
The repertoire will be modified to suit the level stipulated. Please see our Level Guide for more info or email karis@karisscarlette.com.
Prior booking is essential - we only have 10 places remaining!
Daniel Mulligan
Daniel was born in England and trained at The Royal Ballet School, graduating with distinction and was offered a contract with Ballett Zurich. During his career with Zurich Ballet, Daniel also worked with renowned choreographers such as Cathy Marston, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián and Crystal Pite.
In 2022 he received the “Dance Prize of the Friends of Zurich Ballet”.
Now a ballet teacher and educator, Daniel holds the Professional Dancer’s Postgraduate Teaching Diploma from the Royal Academy of Dance and teaches at various studios in Switzerland as well as for professional companies both at home and abroad.
